Nuestra experiencia nos dice que muchos accidentes y enfermedades son másfrecuentes en vacaciones al realizar actividades poco habituales y a las que no solemos estar acostumbrados. A esto hay que añadir una alimentación yclimatología diferente, una irradiación solar elevada e insectos más agresivos que en otros países, sin olvidar que en vacaciones llevamos un ritmo de vida muy diferente de nuestra rutina habitual.

Si el seguro que llevamos tiene coberturas médicas insuficientes o con una larga lista de exclusiones, puede suponer un importante gasto económico para el paciente.

 

Consejos con respecto a las pólizas de seguro médico.

▪ Elija una buena compañía aseguradora de ámbito internacional. Vigile con las ofertas de seguros muy económicas y estudie las coberturas y las exclusiones. Lo barato acaba saliendo caro.

▪ Declare con sinceridad a su aseguradora todas sus enfermedades y así la cobertura de gastos médicos quedará bien garantizada. En caso contrario no.

▪ Al comprar un paquete vacacional este puede incluir un seguro de viajeque suele ser básico. Puede ampliar las coberturas por muy poco dinero más. Viajará mucho más tranquilo.

▪ Hay pólizas “excess waiver”, que significa que no tienen franquicia y están todos los gastos cubiertos. Son muy interesantes si viaja con niños, pues es muy habitual que alguno presente un problema de salud común (otitis, quemaduras, alergias, picaduras, cortes, etc.). Podrá reembolsar la totalidad de los gastos médicos al regreso presentando la factura.

Considere pagar un poco más por no tener franquicia y viajar tranquilo y declare siempre los antecedentes médicos.

▪ Recomendamos llevar siempre anotado el nombre de su compañía de seguros, el número de póliza y el nombre y teléfono de la compañía de asistencia 24h.

▪ Antes de viajar conviene revisar aquellas pólizas que ya tengamos contratadas y que en las que no pensamos. El seguro asociado a las tarjetas de crédito como VISA, MasterCard, American Express, etc., los seguros con nuestro banco, el seguro obligatorio del hogar, el seguro de automóvil, pólizas de enfermedad y accidentes, seguros laborales, etc. A veces revisando las pólizas que ya tenemos vemos que se está bastantebien asegurado sin haber reparado en ello.

▪ Una fotocopia del pasaporte y del billete de avión, tren o autocar será requerida también por su Aseguradora a la hora de garantizar la cobertura de gastos médicos. Así comprueban que usted realmente está viajando.
